David E. Kent, MD completed his training in dermatologic Surgery, lasers and Mohs micrographic surgery under Hugh Greenway at Scripps Clinic in La Jolla California in 1987. He is a fellow of the American College of Mohs Surgery. He established the first fellowship trained Mohs Surgery practice outside Atlanta for the entire state of Georgia in 1987.
He has performed over 10,000 Mohs cases and reconstructions and is credentialed with OR privileges in local and regional teaching hospitals. He is one of a select group of fellowship program directors for the Mohs College charged with providing comprehensive dermatologic surgery and Mohs surgical training.
His aesthetic interests focus on tumescent liposuction with microcanulas. He received his training in tumescent liposuction under Dr. Patrick Lillis and Dr. Jeffrey Klein the originator of the tumescent technique 13 years ago and has performed hundreds of cases. He has incorporated lasers to selectively melt fat and tighten the skin with remarkable tightening and even faster recovery than what is seen with traditional tumescent liposuction. He is committed to excellence.
Dr. Kent is a committed teacher and regularly trains physicians from North America and abroad in tumescent laser assisted liposuction and fractional ablative laser resurfacing. He has served as a regular faculty member at the Superficial Anatomy and Cutaneous Surgery course in San Diego over the past 25 years giving lectures on a variety of topics including tumescent liposuction, laser surgery, and soft tissue reconstruction.
